I've been working on a new seat bag concept with my good friend Andrew @ Bedrock Bags. On my last bikepacking trip I was slogging along some gravel road, and without any technical challenges in sight, my mind returned to seat bag design, something I've been thinking about off and on for about four years. Yes, I'm a nerd. In any case, as I mulled things over, an idea popped into my head that is unlike anything currently out there (that I've seen, anyway!). When I got home I called Andrew up, and we tossed the idea around until a couple prototypes were made. Once we had one that seemed satisfactory, it was time for real-world testing - Andrew and his partner Jackie were up for the first go. Off to Utah they went, and they brought back some cool photos. Here they are - thanks for sharing, Andrew! As for the seat bag, things went well, but I'm not spilling the beans just yet - you'll have to wait and see... it's my turn to check it out on the trail this weekend.
Also, closure notice: My little sister is getting married, and I wouldn't miss it for the world. Since it's just Sandhya and I working the shop right now, we'll have to close to travel back east; so, we'll be closed Tuesday, October 21 through Sunday, October 26. We'll be back with normal hours on Monday, October 27! Thanks for understanding! Once back we're expecting delivery of Salsa Spearfish Carbon and Horsethief Carbon, along with the Salsa Colossal road bike, and Blackborows and Bucksaws to follow in November. Can't wait... one of those Blackborows has my name on it. -Joey
